About Us

The Industrial Fuel Compliance Fund (IFCF), administered by NGIF Accelerator, is a registered Emissions Reduction Funding Program under Canada's Clean Fuel Regulations. It provides an opportunity for regulated fuel suppliers to reinvest their compliance contributions into Canadian clean fuel projects that deliver real, near-term results.

Under the CFR, fuel suppliers must meet annual carbon-intensity reduction requirements and may direct up to 10 percent of their annual compliance obligation to approved programs. The IFCF reinvests these contributions into projects that deliver measurable emissions reductions in real industrial environments, where results can be validated and scaled.

IFCF Builds on NGIF Accelerator’s Work.

NGIF Accelerator has spent the past decade working alongside Canadian natural gas producers and distribution companies to de-risk and commercialize technologies that improve the environmental performance of the natural gas system.

The IFCF builds on this cleantech innovation by helping Canada’s regulated fuel suppliers put their compliance dollars to work on real Canadian projects. These projects generate compliance credits while building infrastructure across renewable natural gas, small-scale LNG, hydrogen, energy efficiency, CCUS, methane reduction, and other value-add low-carbon fuel technologies, benefiting project owners and primary suppliers alike.
